I just passed the CCRN exam, and of all the reference material I used to study with, this book (the 5th edition) was the best. It has enough content to comprehend the subjects that are tested, but not too detailed to be confusing or overwhelming. This should be your priority book for studying. There are a lot of practice questions that test your knowledge. They are more straight forward than the actual CCRN questions (which seem like advanced NCLEX type questions).
The 5th edition book will be a permanent book in my library and for review (or until I'm not cheap enough to buy this or future editions).

I've got a little different take on this book - not from the viewpoint of experienced nurse, but from that of a novice. I just started working as an RN in a medical ICU in a large teaching hospital. This book has been really helpful to me for reviewing the basics of A&P and then applying that to what I see on the job. Many times after work I will come home and use this book to look up any subject-matter questions from my day.
I really like how the review is written in a non-outline format... the style is like what you would hear in a class, the way a teacher might say it.
Eventually I do plan on taking the CCRN exam, but this book is providing WAY more than exam prep to me at this point. It is like having a specialized preceptor there to elaborate on my weaker topics. My hospital uses identical procedures/protocol for treatments, so I can attest to the validity of the book as a reference.
Highly recommend.
Update 3/2012 - I took and passed the CCRN with 111/150. This book was useful in giving in-depth explanations of topics that were more lightly covered in other CCRN prep books. I will say that this book would only be a portion of what's needed for prep in addition to Pass CCRN (with CD) and Gasparis videos. Even afterwards, I still use this as a reference for some of the more obscure topics I come across at work.
